Crowing hen?!?

It's not loud at all! I don't know if it's because it's young and just working out it's voice box, or if it's a hen imitating a crow. I don't have a video, I just heard it for the first time yesterday after letting them out to forage, I'll try to get a video this evening. But I'm in such a tight knit neighborhood, I really cant' have a rooster. A single complaint could lose me all my chickens..

A video would help. I suspect it's a different vocalization. A 13 week old pullet isn't going to crow.

This is my first flock so I'm not super familiar with the behaviors as the chickens age. I think it was the Ameraucana, but I could be wrong. There is no sign of it being a rooster. I've attached new pictures. I'm going to keeper a closer eye and wait for it again. Maybe it was one of the silkies...?

Does a young rooster crow constantly after it learns to crow? Or do they sort of grow into it, crowing only a little in the beginning then more often as they master it? I've only heard the attempt once today, and never when im actually watching them.

Yeah, that looks like a pullet. Also, definitely not an ameraucana- she’s an Easter egger.

How can you tell? I was told Ameraucanas will have beards, muffs, and will lay blue eggs. I was just waiting to see what color eggs before settling. What names her EE for sure?

That’s true. However, ameraucanas also have blue legs and only come in certain color varieties, such as wheaten, black, buff, and silver. Your pullet doesn’t match any of those varieties, but has a beard, pea comb, and green legs. This makes her an Easter egger. Her coloration is also typical of Easter egger pullets.

How old is the polish I have a 5 month old polish hen/pullet with almost no wattle and a yellow comb, and your polish has a pink comb and large wattles. Also it's crest looks kind of roo like..
