Crows eating the chicken's food!

Crows will also steal eggs from nests and eat them.

I have a neighbor with around 800 layers. He keeps a few geese in the field enclosure with them, since they geese tend to chase off the crows. Results may vary, but at least it's a natural way rather than killing/poisoning.

I don't think I'd be able to scare off the crows anyway....most will be leaving us shortly as spring nears. I buy "feed bread" at the day old bread store--which we feed to the goat and chickens (along with a ton of other things). I'll make the chicken lattice feed pen, and then throw bread out in the field for the crows.

We have hawks around too. When a hawk flies into the cottonwood tree, it gets very very quiet! It'd be great to have a few crows run off the hawks!

Hi
Terry here from Cornwall UK. I had crows eating my food. I know this is controversial, more so in this country than in the USA. I shot 2 and hung em up on a string not much higher than the feeders so as peeping eyes couldn't see em. Chickens don't care at all, nor do the doves or all the little birds. REALLY ****** the crows of though. Not a sign of em. Result!!
