crows stealing eggs

If you can't keep them out, maybe try the same thing for keeping a hen from eating eggs, like fake eggs or blowing one out and filling it with mustard, etc.

Or shoot the crow.

hi im in australia and im having that issue now 2 big black crows and they keep coming back we did not have a cover over out pen so went out and got some bird netting our girls and guys and free range when ever they like but get locked up at night so the crows started to walk through the door way so we put a peace of tin near the door a very shiny one but alowed a nought room for our guys to get in it seemed to work also a old man told me this get 4 rabbit traps and place in a squre shape then place a peace of cardbord with a egg glued down on it in the center of the square he said it will not fail its a funny sight seeing then trying to carry duck eggs but they do it

I was totally miffed last year when crows stole all my 4 rubber eggs. Yes, I knew it was them as I saw a crow emerging from the coop with one in his talons. I startled him and he dropped it, but picked it up again.

Mustard filled eggs may be a solution. has it worked for anyone?

I have the same problem with Ravens. They fly right into the shed and come out with full size chicken and turkey eggs. Not to mention the fact that they kill any ducks, young chickens, quineas, rabbits, and quail they can get to. I've had them kill quail, chickens, and rabbits that were caged in pens that had 1"x2" wire. Horrible beasts!!! And the way they kill the ducks is horrendous. They hop right along side the duck as it is trying to run away and peck a hole in its back. They even managed to kill a full grown African goose last winter. I can't free range any of my birds, except my turkeys, because of the horrid things. I'm working on a new poultry barn that will have a large completely covered run so that my birds can enjoy a semblance of free ranging. I've tried all kinds of things to keep them away from shiny, brite, flapping flags to scare crows to fire crackers and even a fake owl. They are too smart to be taken in by any of these methods. Good luck with getting rid of your crows. If you find something that works, let me know so I can try it on my Ravens.

these are big chicken and duck eggs.a old farmer that lives around her gave me fake hawks he told me to put them around my pen or on the post.he said it may help so i did guess wait and see what happens

Crows are wary of enclosed spaces. The older farmers used to hang a fabric, tarp over the doorway. Hens would go past it but crows didnt.
As my coop doorway wasnt very big I hung a towel (anchored to the roof with 2 big rocks). The towel covered the doorway and I had no further problems with crows.

We also are having problems with we think crows stealing our eggs. We thought it was a rat and set out traps at night but no luck catching anything. We now have discovered the eggs are dissapearing during the day. I am going to try a cloth over the small chicken door and see if that prevents the crows from walking in.
