I have had some hawk problems lately so I don't mind seeing the crows but is it my imagination or are they using my chickens as bait? I've a red tail and 2 coopers hawks around a lot lately and the crows have done their job mostly and chased them off. Now the crows are roosting in the trees above the coop and shicken yard and wandering around on the ground with the chickens. It's pretty funny, the chickens keep getting a little closer looking at them.

My chickens have magpie friends who come visiting every day. They dust bathe together and I have caught the magpies eating out of the chickens feeders! I don't like magpies-they eat baby birds. They are also very noisy and for a while, my number one hen would screech just like those magpie devils.

LOL My chickens have some little sparrow friends. It's so cute, they dustbathe together and share their food and treats. I wasn't happy at first either, though. I was convinced they were using my birds as bait; a bunch of hawks were beginning to show up. One day I found a Coopers hawk sitting on the roof of the coop just chilling:cool: till I let the birds out! But in the end it all worked out. There aren't as many squirrels digging holes in my yard now.
