Cruelty *RANT & VENT*

I don't watch the news, subscribe to a newspaper or listen to the radio much...there is too much sensationalism with the media where all of the bad is highlighted - horrible, horrible things happening to animals, infants and elders but as a whole, society in general. Evidently the good isn't newsworthy enough...it sure doesn't say a lot about our society when people who commit criminal acts seem to have more rights than the victims, whether animal or human...Count me in for the move to the mountains but until that far away mountain is found, I will continue think to myself at least once a day that the more people I meet (present company on BYC excepted of course!), the more I love my chickens and dogs...

I fully agree with you Cetawin. Here in S. Fl. there is this teenage boy, whom they found out that he has killed 19 cats!!! I saw it on this mornings news. I about fell over. The good thing is, he HAS been locked up. Like you, they should lock them all up and throw away the key! It was quite a long report too, I only caught about half of it. Until society realizes that animals need defending too, and it only starts with animals, lizards, etc., that the cruelty will only continue to escalate!

I was in this thread last night and had to leave becaue it just bothers me so much. I ended up having nighmares all night abbut animals being abused and tortured.

To the Moderators: DON'T close this thread because of me. I'm not complaining at all. It is a very sad one is all.
