Crumble vs pellets

I found there is less waste with the pellets than the crumble or mash. I feed my chickens non gmo pellets from our feed store - I live in northern Ontario. A bag costs almost $19 I increased what I charge for a dozen eggs by .50 to help with the cost.

-prefer crumbles. I suppose no chickens will starve in the presence of food. -have just found that my flock really eats crumbles well. They don't care for pellets at all. -probably has more to do with what they get used to, honestly. My neighbor's hens did well with pellets.

Yeah my dont care either or. But i think im going to stick with the crumble blue seal. I counted from when i got it to when i ran out and it last 20 days bewteen 12 piggish birds. And thats with treats an oats added to the feed.

Yeah it think im goinf to stick with the crumble. Its probably because its a better feed that its more filling. Once spring hits im going to make them a garden and soon be trying to grow some fodder. I have thought about growing meal worms ive seen on Pinterest. But i don't know about that..

It's probably a matter of what your hens are accustomed to. Mine love pellets. I had to go out of town for a few weeks and my friend bought crumbles for them. They didn't like the crumbles and were very happy to see the pellets return.
