From what I can find I am limited to crumble form

Since I ferment my feed, I don't mind the crumbles. But, when the weather is really cold, I wish they made pellets.

I asked because none of the dealers near me carry pelleted form. And they all claim Flock Raiser does not come in pellet form, that's why they don't carry it.

I have only been keeping chickens for a couple months. But, with that said, I prefer pellets. It seems that they dig around in the feeder and rake a lot to the floor. The crumbles seem to be broken up too much (at least with the brand I was using ) and just disappear into the bedding.

They are misinformed. I buy flock raiser pellets during every molt.

How about trying something other than flock raiser? My local feed store, which is a Southern States Coop, carries a 20% protein pellet called Rock-N-Rooster Growth Booster and is only $15 for 50lbs. I feed this while offering oyster shell and it gives me plenty of wiggle room with scraps, treats and fodder. My eggs are lovely...
