Crushed Clam Shells???

I`M having a clam bake,if I crush the shells are they the same as oyster shells???

I would think you have the same general outcome as oyster shells, but clam shells are really dense, right? Oyster shells are thin and flakey. My only concern is the hens will have a hard time absorbing them.
