Crusty eyelid

One of our a Wyandottes has a crusty eyelid and the eye is closed and seems swollen, she gets this quite often but normally a wipe with a cotton pad soaked in warm water removes it,not this time. Anyone advise other than the vet?

Use Neosporin in the eye after flushing it with saline eye wash. Do this twice a day until it clears up.
