Coop-de-coop
Chirping
I noticed yesterday on my 5 month old white rock hen, Daisy, crust around on her eyelid and a lesion between her eye and beak. She seems to be using her right eye more to examine things. Looking at the pics I took late this afternoon I became concerned seeing a cloudy cornea and what appears to be a bit of swelling around the pupil:
Daisy is part of two flocks that were merged in October with minimal drama. There’s a 8 month old gimpy roo among 17 hens of varying ages. All the birds are seem healthy, have good appetites and as busy as ever. Other than mild pecks of annoyance, everyone gets along fine. We live in Montana where we’re having a very mild winter so they’ve been in their 500 sq ft run everyday. Her coop has 9 sq ft/bird.
Thoughts, BYC-ers?
