i didn't give shots but i make sure they don't come in contact with any other birds. all bird feeders are in the other end of the yard.
our hopie is doing great. gracie our hen didn't start laying again until hopie was about 4 or 5 weeks old. which is i believe normal. so if you had to do the med feed you wouldn't have to worry about the eggs until then. we found that letting momma do her job was so easy. hopie seemed to feather out earlier than our others did at their age and momma took her out in very cold temps. 30 degrees or so for short peirods of time without any ill effects. both my hen and rooster cared for the chick together. poppa chubbs is an excellent dad. they are offered a boss mix, layer pellets, and pullin grain chick grower along with an assortment of lettus, spinach, tomatoes, cheeze and other assorted goodies each am. if ever hopie tried to eat something she wasn't ready for i watched grace and chubbs take it right out of her mouth and offer somethin else. just amazing.
pullin grains have a website that lists all stores in any area that carry their product. if i remember correctly it searches by zip code.
good luck with your birds!
o and gracie started with 6 eggs. she kicked 1 out right from the start. they weren't hers we got them from a friend didn't know about the broody thing at the time was just learning. 2 hatched 1 passed right away. she then kicked out another one or it fell by accident. the 2 remaining ones turned out not to be fertil. hope has her name cause we hope she was a girl (which she is) we hoped gracie would do her job and we hoped she would live.
