Cuckoo Bluebar...

Does anyone know if Cuckoo Bluebars come in any color other than the blue/gray color i see in most pictures?
I believe that is one requirement of the "breed", or mix. Being blue and being barred, but I'm not totally sure.

I just got a cuckoo bluebar/crested cream legbar mix. She looks just like a CCL but has slate legs. I can't wait to see how she looks as she grows and I was told she will lay blue eggs

We got Cream Legbars and Blue Breda Fowl in 2012. We have mad some of these crosses because I wanted an Andalusian Blue colored hen with the blue ear lobes of the Silkie and blue eggs of the Cream Legbars. Since we were living in Marable Falls, Texas which is the Blue Bonnet capital we called the cross Blue Bonnets. Here are some of ours. As you can see we didn't get any with blue ear lobes, but we do see some blue earlobes from both our Breda Fowl and our Cream Legbars from time to time.

I was hoping to see offspring of bluebar x bluebar... particularly what a splash Barred bird looks like... Mine also lays more a small greenblue egg rather than a light blue egg...

I am pretty sure that the bluebar's are crossed of the Adalusian and the Cream Legbars. I assume they are only selling pullets and destroying all the cockerels shortly after hatch. If that is the case, then you aren't likely to see any bluebar x bluebar because no males you will be available for the pairing. :-(

There were several ppl who posted males on previous threads due to getting EGGS from MyPetChicken... I got straigh run chicks from Brinkhaven... I had culled any males because I can only have a male or two where I live, but one I have happens to be a Splash, so I was curious how these as splash would look. I may see soon anyways as I have a few eggs due to hatch in a couple days, but it’s a 50/50 shot, and only the males would be Splash and Barred.. females would be only a standard splash...

If the Cuckoo Bluebars are breed from a Legbar Cockerel and standard blue hens they you could get both barred blue and standard blue in both the males and females. Post photos of the chicks when they hatch. Fuzzy Yellow and Blue chicks are the cutest thing in the world.

I have so many blue chicks right now... keep finding out my white chickens are actually splashes heh.. or learning that my Silver Hmong bred to any blue based bird gives me only solid blue chicks... (lame)... so yup, trying to shake things up hehe

So I admit I skimmed over this thread, so I am trying to glean the basics...?basically there is no way of knowing if the chicks produced in a second generation blue bar cross will be carrying the white laying gene? Man, that seems awfully hard to eradicate! I have three third generation chicks and I was so excited, until I read this! Lol!!!! Even if they lay blue/green eggs, they will still have a chance of throwing a chick that will lay white as it seems there would be no way of knowing if that chicken has a recessive white gene or if it has two copies of the dominant blue gene... (my head hurts thinking about it!)

Do you have photos of the F2 generation? I am guessing you are seeing a half dozen different color combinations too. There is also no way to know what color you are going to get.
1) non-barred, single barred, double barred
2) blue, black, splash, wild type
3) yellow shanks, green shanks, white shanks, grey shanks

You can create a blue/black/splash cuckoo blue laying breed if you want to. It will require a lot of test mating and a lot of culling. It would be easier to get a Cream Legbar cockerel and some Blue Andalusian Hens to make the cross if you want Cuckoo Bluebars.
