Cuckoo Bluebar...

I don’t. They were some extra eggs that were included in a rare breed sale. The lady has been wonderful about communicating so I have absolutely no complaints, but it will definitely be interesting to see what happens with these babies... I thought at first they were blue isbars, but when I looked back I saw they were cuckoo bluebars. Yes, one is light colored and two are blue! Guess we will see what the next few weeks bring.

Here are some photos of my cuckoo bluebar. Really liking her. She just started laying about a month ago, and boy

does she lay. Egg is getting bigger. She came from a nice sized egg. Her egg color is a light olive.

If anyone is here - my ccb eggs are hatching today - feisty little chicks so far and friendly right out of the shell. Love the variety of colored eggs we got when we ordered drab to light blue; these were decendants of brinkhaven

Oldironic, how did your birds turn out? I'd love to see some pics. Did you end up with all blue chicks or some splash also?

Well, if there's anyone still following this thread, here is an update on my cuckoo Bluebars.

The two hens were hatched on Valentine's day and the roo was hatched 3 weeks later. These three are all siblings. I have 3 more unrelated breeding coming behind them to give me 4 unrelated pens for next year.

One of the two hens was hanging out in nesting boxes today and doing a lot of chatting. Other hens have moved right in to lay so I can't see if she laid today or, if she's just starting to get the feeling and will lay soon!

I intend to use splash offspring from the F2 generation to cross back to cream Legbars for the F3 to help strengthen the blue egg gene
