Hi, we have six new members of our flock, we got them about six weeks ago so they are all about seven weeks old. The biggest of this new group, Darksha, is starting to make us wonder if she's actually a he. She/he is Cuckoo Maran, she/he is a little larger than the others, her legs are noticeably thicker, she's getting wattles, and her comb is bigger and redder than any of the others. Most importantly, she's way more aggressive than any chick or pullet we've ever had. She bites our fingers when she has the chance and gets very protective of the other gals in the cage. My ten year old daughter says she's just plain mean. I've attached photos here. Any thoughts on her sex? Thanks.

When you pick "her" up, does "she" feel heavy and more muscular than others? If so, that's another sign of a roo (on top of everything you already mentioned).

What did it end up being? Can you post an updated photo? I may have one too but it's only four weeks old so I can't tell. I am new to chicken raising.

This isn’t a proven method. Hens can be heavy and muscular. My Buff Orp pullet breaks the laws of physics.
