I picked out what I hope is a Cuckoo Maran, but the owner says sometimes they get mixed up when people put them back in the wrong bin.

Here's my new baby. Is hopefully she a Maran? My baby has pink legs.

She was a sexed chick too. Thank you. I'm hoping for the dark eggs.

The three chicks I picked up yesterday are lovely! I got my white brahma I've always wanted too. I'm questioning the sex of the brahma though, her wings are straight across like a male, but my daughter wouldn't give it up for another.lol

its a marans...if they were feather sexed it could go either way feather sexing only works if they are breed for it

It's a cute little Cuckoo Marans, which can have their genders determined using the same general principals as a Barred Rock. She has a tight small dot on her head, and overall darker feathers; ergo she's a she.

In that same bin, one chick had an all yellow head with lighter feathers. My neighbor across the street ended up with a roo barred rock that was suppose to be a pullet. She kept him, but he's not a nice boy. He attacks people.

Thank you everyone. I can't wait until I get my dark brown eggs. She's really friendly as a chick.
