Cuckoo Maran Question

What should a cuckoo maran chick look like?

The ones I have, are black with light yellow on their heads and bellies. Their eyes are black.

Now somewhere I read that their eyes should be green?

Thanks Catfish. I was just wondering because I came across a picture of a Cuckoo Maran chick, and it was solid grayish color. Don't even know where it was, I came across it accidently.

MIne are about 11 weeks yet, so they are still a bit aways from laying. Their combs are just starting to turn pinkish.

Cuckoo Marans the hens are black with gray trimings. The Roosters are Gray with black markings.

Thanks again Catfish. I forgot all about feathersite, it is in my favorites now.

I think maybe I have a rooster in the bunch. Sure hope so.

Looking at that, that picture that someone said was a cuckoo maran looks like a blue maran.

If you don't have a rooster let me know. I've got a few to many that are going to be freezer kings but will send you one.

I hadn't ever tried to mail a bird before but I bet we could overnight him and it would be ok. Heck the Hatcheries mail chicks, so why couldn't mail a larger one.

Some of mine are featherlegs and others are not.

Thanks for the offer Catfish. My chicks are only 1 week old, so it will be a long while before I know for sure.

I have Welsummers too, I can't wait until I start getting my first eggs from them.
