Cuckoo Maran

I have a cuckoo maran that is all black with orange on its beak and reminds me of a crow. Anyway, it is suppose to be a cuckoo maran. I am seeing posts about trying to tell the barred rock from the cuckoo maran. There is definitely a huge difference between my two 2-month old chicks. I was thinking I had a silver cuckoo maran. What could this be?

A Cuckoo Marans should not have an orange beak. It should be more of a horn coloring with white towards the tip. See this link
