Thanks for all the great responses.... if the marans are mixed between BCM's and CM's are their any indicators that would give me clues to what breed their parents were as they mature? If the parents might be a different breed mixed with CM's are their any indicators as they mature? If they were crossed is there a possibility of still getting slightly darker eggs? I didn't expect dark eggs from a purchase at the local chicken meet... but one can still have his fingers crossed....
