Cuckoo Marans? Pullet or Cockerel?? - PICS

All, This cutie hatched from a speckled brown egg lighter than the French Copper Marans we did in the same hatch. The breeder was not sure if this egg was even fertile and threw it in with the others. As "she"

is starting to feather out, "she" looks like a Cuckoo Marans and a pullet? She is a little over 2 weeks old now and is feathering in tail feathers, which I thought pullets do before cockerels. She also has feathered shanks and bright yellow penciling around her eyes.

Is this a Cuckoo Marans Pullet????

I sure hope so because my daughter already named her "Tinkerbelle" THANKS FOR HELPING!!

Day old in the middle. only one with a yellowish beak amongst the frenc BCM's

Far left with white spot on her head. If truly a Cuckoo Marans, she should be a pullet right, given that her back was almost jetblack. No silvery tone like the boys are suppose to have....but

she stands tall like a roo, eventhough they are very young...

I thought Cuckoo marans had white/grey legs. Are those feathers on their legs? They look like barred rock legs to me.

Either way, they are as cute as they can be. Congrats!!

Did the breeder only have varieties of Marans? Then I'd say that's what she is. I'm leaning toward pullet. You'll be able to tell better in about two weeks.

Perched in this photo is a female CM on the left, boy on the right - they are a little bit older that yours.

I am not sure if CM have white and grey legs but hers are yellow and grey. She also has feathers on both legs going to the outer toes.
the other ones are 100% french blk copper marans_ wade and bev davis lines.

thanks for the picture. Sofar she is dark and yes the breeder had Marans andRIR. I am certain that is not what she is. She had 5rench BCM's. That is where this little ones hatch mates came from. Did you hatch yours too?
