I went out to do my morning chores and when I shooed the cornish out to put clean straw down, one was just standing there gasping for air.. I watched her for a minute and realized she had to be culled, she was blue.. It really solidified the fact that I NEVER want to raise these birds again.. I know I am going to eat them, but I can not stand to see them suffer.. She was filled with fluid and I ended up cleaning her and giving her to my dogs because I didn't want her to go to waste.. It was my first time processing a bird and I am really glad that I had the experience. It was so hard to watch her suffer though as I was hurrying trying to get everything ready..

It would have been fine for you to eat that bird yourself.

You did the right thing to cull as soon as you saw she was in trouble.

I know alot of people would have eaten her, but I myself can not eat a sick animal.. I am so glad I found her when I did and that she didn't have to die on her own like that..
