Curing Bumblefoot

I have a rooster who's been hobbling around on one foot for weeks now. We could see that it was swollen and figured that it was bumble but kept forgetting to catch him(he doesn't really love humans). Tonight we grabbed him, and he still doesn't have the typical scab but his foot is starting to swell out to his toe and up his leg instead of just on the pad. How do we fix it, and do you really think that it's bumble?
