My plan was a trio of... Bronze Peacok, White Peahen, and a Purple Peahen.
But my plans changed. I will now be getting just a pair becasue I didn't want to wait for a train either but also didn't want to over crowd even though I could fit 3 perfectly.
So I am getting a 2yr old White-Eye peacock and a Bronze or White peahen.

So far we have a trio of bronze, a trio of bronze black shoulder, a pair of whites, a trio of purple BS, and a pied purple BS because I saw her at a swap a month ago and had to have her. The more varieties you see the more you want I just love em.

I have five peafowl: Dragon my 4yr old India blue pied peacock, Damsel my 2yr old India blue pied peahen, Alto my 2yr old India blue peacock, Pip my 2yr old India blue peahen, and poor Ice who is the odd one out, she is my only India blue blackshoulder. I tell you visiting breeders and seeing those free-range blackshoulder peacocks really makes me want a pretty BS male for her...More like for me.

I won't be a breeder for perhaps a while maybe? Well see the first peachicks I get from my peafowl will be hard to part with since they will be my first ever peachicks, so I might not sell any but it depends on how much I get...Also I need to build up a free-range group. I want a good sized group to free-range but then I would also need new peafowl to free-range to keep the genetic diversity...But yes I would like to free-range the first peachicks I get. Also to be a breeder I need to separate my peafowl into variety pens like pieds in this pen, ect. Right now everybody is in one big pen, which I like, but eventually it will need to be several pens, but I still want to give them big planted pens even for breeder pens. I don't think I want to be a huge breeder, more of a smallish one and have only at most 7 varieties but have nice pens for them. I would sell peafowl and have a website (I will learn in school how to make websites next year). Oh and I will sell feathers.

Ha I started with two, Ice, and an India blue peacock named Fire. Both were caught from the zoo because the zoo closed down, ect. They needed someone to take their peafowl and so a lady named Monica took them and we bought them from her. After a while of penning them we let them out, after a moth Fire ran away...Long story...Anyways so we couldn't find him and we caught Ice and put her in a pen. She looked lonely and mad at us so we wanted to get her a friend! Well I read that it is best to free-range yearling peafowl so we got Pip. Then we thought maybe a peacock could help call Fire back, so we bought Alto (he was a yearling too at the time). We didn't know that little Alto wasn't old enough to make noise so oops. Then I really really wanted pied peafowl. My parents finally gave in and said well I guess we should go ahead and get pieds since you really want some so we got Dragon, and found Walden's Peafowl and got Damsel from them and we gave the person who sold us Dragon Damsel's mom who we also bought from Walden's peafowl. So at first I thought I would have just a pair and get peachicks from them but I ended up with 4 peafowl to replace Fire.

So now my dad says that if we free-range Pip and Alto ( I really want to free-range them but I hope they don't run away, but I wanted to free-range them with peachicks I raise, if I get peachicks from the peas) since we will have more room in the pen we could get a white peahen so that when mated to Dragon we can get Pieds and whites! Also I am secretly hopping that if we don't get peachicks from my birds this year that maybe just maybe we can get some from a local breeder.

I bought a baby male pied, in a farm on a road to my moms house. Now He is almost a year and we play with him plenty. I mis him a lot when I am at work, and I feel he could be lonely. So I want to wait a few years to see how much work he is, and get him a hen. His name is Inspector Henri Clouseau, so henri for short so we already think we could give his hen a name Hen! That way they will be Henri and Hen, perfect !
For sure they are addictive! I miss him so much, and when I am at home I can watch him play and eat and sleep and peep all day long.

I have 2 currently: Black Shoulder IB male and a White male. Looking to pick up an IB Silver Pied chick or two this spring, so maybe I'll have more males or possibly a female? My two boys are not yet a year old so definitely not a breeder. I would breed for hobby and not for profit. I started out wanting one... I guess we all know how that works out. Since having my two boys I've already started thinking of how/what the bigger and better pen will be/look like. I let them out time to time to "free range" but they don't get to stay out long. My BS IB doesn't have all his color yet, I know it will take a few years, but I still think they are such a beautiful bird.

Thanks for letting me share,
Walter
