That makes total sense. Thanks for the reply and reassurance. He never seems in pain or like it’s a bother to him, just thought it was a little odd.Lots of birds can have wonky toes. Could have been a hatch issue, vitamin deficiency in parent stock, or injury early on. As long as he gets around ok and it's not bothering him, I wouldn't worry. Chickens break toes and they heal wonky sometimes, or they lose toes to frostbite or injury, they usually do just fine. The only time there would be reason for any concern is if the injury or deformity causes the toe to hit the ground oddly which might cause irritation or injury.
