What do you do if a chicken has a curled toe.
ummmmmmmm............. tape 'em strait???
If this chicken is still a chick under a week old, you can try splinting the toes with a cardboard cut out and taping it flat. For older birds though, they will get around fine and it's too old to do much about.
...sometimes the curled toe isnt there at hatch and comes on gradual later (when it is connected to a defiency or malabsorption issue)...
The sooner you use the "shoe" (which can also be made with simply two pieces of strong tape sandwiching the foot inside it and trimmed to shape>something like duck tape >it depends on the age of chick and size of foot) the more chance you have of success (a vit supplement is also advised> A liquid A-B-D childrens vitamin three drops in the beak once a day for a week and taper off the next week)
So even if your bird is somewhat older , or when this come on at an older age it is always worth trying.
