We are currently raising our fist flock, we have a variety of birds we have been raising since May, the oldest are outside and we have a small younger group indoors. We have one Delaware chick who is about 4 weeks old that has started a unusual behavior we have not seen in any of the other birds. At night mostly presumabily when she is cold (though we have a heat lamp and monitor our temps carefully) she hides her head under her body, falls asleep and is very difficult to wake up. The other chicks have remained active during periods of the night but the Delaware will curl up and remain mostly asleep all night only waking up briefly if we move her. She will be fine in the morning but we are concerned since we have not seen this behavior in any other bird nor have we been able to find any information about any other birds doing it.
