Good evening,
I have just hatched 2 Breda chicks, they are about 5 days old. I have noticed that their toes are starting to curl in causing walking problems. They have vitamins in the water....what else should I be doing?
Is this a common problem with 'feather footed' birds - I had the same with 2 Barbu D'Uccles. They had it so bad they had to be culled

Thanks in advance for any thoughts,

Usally caused at hatch or heritary. . Might be able to use a bandaid to keep them straight. . Since chicks grow so fast.. bandaid would only have to be on a week or so

I had two chicks that were walking on hocks....putting no weight on legs. I fed them nutritional yeast and within days were back to completely normal.

I made a thread about my chick. More specially all that I did. Check it out! It has progress pics!

Yes I did - thank you! I have made 'boots' for the curling toes and added natural brewers yeast to their feed and water, along with some other vitamin powder.
Hoping to see progress really soon
