Curly feathers

Mascovy duck hatched with curly feathers. We are on day two and the feathers are still curly. I can’t find any info on line as to why this may be.

it’sa little week compared to the others. I’m going to try and source a duck egg today to feed it the yolk. I read last night that it would be a good booster of nutrition

I’ll take another pic after they rest and warm back up. I just cleaned their bedding.

I can’t find any info on line as to why this may be.

I have searched on the Internet, and I have indeed found nothing...

But after thinking about it : maybe it is not that her fluff is naturally curly, but instead that there was a humidity problem - or something - inside of the egg (that caused the fluff to curl)...?

...Do post a picture when the duckling is completely dry, please!

That corkscrew hair is a vitamin C deficiency in humans, you can google it

I would give the little one a bit of vitamin C.
