I think @Perris has quite a few different feed labels for feeds available in the UK.
I've got quite a few because I keep posting them for Perris. I'll have look through the appropriate hard drive for the labels if @Kiki is interested in adding them to their data base?

Aww. I was a little afraid of Naked Necks the first time I heard of them. But adding one to my flock this summer. I’ve heard such wonderful things about them!

I found some differences in the guaranteed analysis and the ingredient list on this one. The new stuff lists porcine meat and bone meal. I didn't think that animal products were in poultry feed anymore???

I couldn't get the Nutrena or Purina Flock Raiser the last trip so I bought Dumor 20% Chick Starter on Dec 21,2022.

Since this is not my regular feed I have no old tags for it. Looked at Kiki's sheet and see there are differences compared to 2018. In the analysis list in the photo there are pencil marks by the differences.

Made me wonder about the ingredient list. I wondered if Tractor supply had changed it's feed analysis on their site.

Hmmm...I don't think so at least not on Dumor 20% Chick Starter!

On the site it also list the ingredients too. It lists this (it matches the old info on Kiki's sheet)

Nope, still allowed. Tucker Milling uses Menhaden Fish meal and Porcine Blood meal, for instance.

USDA forbids use of "meat scraps" (a term of art for a rather generic catch-all you find in old feed books). USDA allows the use of meat scraps (common understanding) as long as they are disclosed more specifically and meet various quality and testing standards - including identifying the type of animal they are from - fish, crab, shrimp, pig, mealworms, etc....

Aflatoxin is regulated by the FDA and if it was enough of a problem that we had contaminations that led to egg production issues it would be an issue for EVERY feed company and would be talked about by everyone. That is not happening.

If it comes down to it, I may need to go with non-med chick starter for all. How long do you think can I safely do that for adults without making them obese?

They'll self-regulate.

I've noticed that when I've had to buy a lower-protein layer when I couldn't get my regular feed that the birds went through the 50#s several days faster -- presumably trying to meet their needs from a lower-quality feed.

I'm happy to see this.

I always laughed at the Eggland's Best cartons that proclaimed that their chickens were fed "an all natural vegetarian diet" -- there being nothing natural about a vegetarian chicken.

I have not had any unusual laying issues. I have 4 pullets laying almost daily. My 3 year old Cream Legbars should start soon.

I do not cull my older girls. They are still on break and a couple are so old they don't lay anymore.
Although one of my 5 year old Marans laid a couple days ago.

I'm not really worried about this. Too many other things to think about this time of year with chickens.

As for the meat products-I didn't know this. I give mine leftover meat scraps from the table occasionally. They are omnivores.
