Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

"Eastern Promises" was about the Russian mafia and starred Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn, from Lord of the Rings) Okay, so that's why I rented it. But it was very good.

WAIT! DUH! I HAVE seen it. Don't know why I didn't rememebr the title. LOL And my reasons for watching were the same. But it wasn't as fun because I was watching it with my husband and FIL.

Titanic made me cry more than any other movie in my life , even more than Ol Yeller. If I just hear a bit of the soundtrack, I am crying.

OMG. Old Yeller. Pretty sure that one scarred me for life and is the sole reason I cry at the drop of a hat during movies. LOL! There's a movie from the 80s(?) with Kevin Costner, Revenge I think. For whatever reason, I have seen it more than once and every single time I have watched it, I start sobbing at the beginning credits and whenever the certain music is played that is really sad. From start to finish, I'm a hot mess and I cannot explain it. It's not like it was some cinematic achievement or anything but it wrecked me every time I watched it. The only other movie that makes me sob from beginning to end is Big Fish. I saw it in the theater when it came out and the whole time I was thinking "I can't imagine going through this with my dad, it would kill me". My BFF & husband teased me for being such a mess and thinking such things. I told them it just didn't sit right with me and for days after I couldn't shake it. My dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer less than a year after the movie was released. When I got the phone call that day, before my mom even said hello, I had a heavy feeling and thought to myself "this is a Big Fish call". And when I asked her if he was ill, she asked me who already told me. It was creepy. I still ove that movie, though. it had such a wonderful story woven into the sadness of it all. And Albert Finney is jst awesome anyway.

On a happier note, I think 2 of my favorite funny movies would have to be A Fish Called Wanda and It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World. My dad loved them too. Both are ridiculously funny.

My son, wife, and I went to see Everest this evening. It was factually interesting, very realistic, and quite engaging for extended periods of time but it's definitely not a movie for those who want happy endings.

Pretty much how I felt about this movie. Glad that we saw it, but would not go out of my way to see it again.

I don't like sad movie's either, movies should have good ending, even if they have good endings some are just awful. Took the kids to the drive in a few yrs ago, first movie was a cartoon 'Up', horrible sad. I like post-apocalyptic movies, just watched a not so great one on Netflix with Viggo Mortensen 'The Road' geez, can't the good guy always live?
I never have cried over a movie but I think I may have came close when we watched 'War Horse' horrible movie. I don't know how the critics can say it was 'great' it's like saying 'yeah that WWI, that was a great war' ??!!
Yeah, great acting and very 'moving' but a horrible movie, the only part I liked was when the horse plowed the turnip field. The rest was just a real downer....

How many movies do you usually watch more than once? I think I have about 20 movies I have seen over my lifetime that I watch over an over. I own hundreds f movies but most only get touched if I have ran out of anything else to do with my time.

Took my sister out for her birthday this weekend and we wanted to see a "NO TEARS!" movie. So we chose Inside Out.
Yup.... near the end she leaned over and whispered "Stupid 'no tears' animated movie!!" Both of us were a mess for a little while there...

We took the kids to see that one when it came out. Reminded me of UP, why does kids cartoon movies have to be so depressing, adult oriented? I did find it a good movie though, just not a little kid movie. It was uplifting at the end, just had to spend 3/4 of it depressed.....

When we want to feel charged up and happy we watch the Incredibles. Pixar has done some great movies, but that one is my favorite.
I have seen it more than any other movie.
