Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

I dont keep up so I can be as excited watching them at home after they are on disk.

Tremors 5 comes out on disk in 2 days by the way... Looking forward to more Burt Gummer.

I can understand that. I get excited, but I'm also extremely absentminded(aka ADHD). If I don't make an effort to see it when I'm jumping up and down about it, I forget altogether. Until it hits cable, or netflix. I haven't rented/bought a dvd in forever. I think the last time I actually watched a dvd was when we bought our house 3 years ago. We didn't have the directv hooked up yet, so I watched Snatch and The Usual Suspects. I just watched Tremors a couple weeks ago. I had no idea there are four more!

Sadly, I'm not even sure if I remember how to work the dvd player anymore. I sure as heck have no idea how to operate the DH's 55" hd thing he's got in the man cave. I can turn it on & change the channels. Operating the apps and anything else? I'm better off not messing with it.

Yep, 5 now. Burt is the only person in every one. They learn a lot about them in each movie. 2 is in Mexico, 3 is back in Perfection, Nevada, 4 is a prequel western in the town that later becomes Perfection Nevada, 5 is apparently in South America somewhere.

The only problem with the Dollar Matinee is that the selection is usually the ones right before they go to video.

Monday is $1 matinees for seniors or groups of three or more. Wednesday is $1 matinee for everybody. And, yes, I live in New Mexico!

After talking with y'all yesterday, I decided to do some checking into it. We moved to a new area in '12 and I never really got around to finding out what's going on around here. There's a theater not far from us that has a similar setup. They do $6 matinees daily. All showings are $6 on Tues all day(unless studios say no), with a $2 concessions menu. I was thinking about catching the 4:30 showing of Black Mass today, but we have a contractor coming out at 2 to give us an estimate on what is going to be some major work on our swimming pool. We may not have the time. By major, I mean partially digging up the concrete.

that it isn't going to be too painful. I have a feeling my DH won't be in the mood for a movie date after that. LOL

$ 2. concessions - wow, even I could afford to eat there.

I KNOW!!! I was bummed that it's on Tuesdays. The DH is off Sunday/Monday. He goes back to work tomorrow, and may be working some extra hours in the mornings. I did consider going to see it alone. Haven't done that it a while. Don't want to hurt his feelings though, because he already misses out on so much due to his job.

that we'll get a chance to go. Maybe next Sunday.

I've seen people come in with stuff under their coats - take out a bag of store bought popcorn, and a 2 lt. bottle of pop and paper cups. They made themselves very comfortable. Never see any ushers so I guess they get away with it.

yup. I'm one of those. I carry a ginormous handbag normally, so we usually hit Dollar Tree for candy on the way there. LOL Which is why we won't have time today! I usually have a bottled water in the bag at all times anyway, so we just buy our tickets and some popcorn. Which the DH hogs most of.
