Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

"Finding Dory" was awesome! The animation was INCREDIBLE, and the storyline was actually really good, and the characters were really fun . :thumbsup

We saw "The Shallows," no Jaws by any means but, it had it's scary bits and gore. Blake Lively co-starring with the mechanical shark put on an earnest performance. 87 minutes and a nice air conditioned theatre for the money. It was entertaining while we watched it but, nothing that stayed with us once we walked out.

Coming up in July - Star Trek: Beyond, Captain Fantastic (not a super power movie) allegedly a comedy with Viggo Mortensen, Fathers & Daughters, with Russell Crowe, AND

JASON BOURNE - I'm hoping Matt Damon can pull off another one. I was quite a fan in the past.

My kids took us out to watch it for father's day. We all thought it was pretty good also.

Today we saw "Free State of Jones". A compelling story that needed to be told and a pretty good movie. 3.5 stars on the movie and 6 stars on the performance by Matthew McConaughey.
I've been wanting to see it since reading this in Smithsonian Magazine a few months ago;

Always thought I was pretty well versed in American and human history. For awhile now I've been reading Smithsonian Mag and Archeology Mag every month, and every month I'm reading stuff I've never heard before, amazing mags.

Any of you seen spectre? Is it good? My sister saw it but she said there's a couple of disturbing scenes in it..

I was hoping to see BFG (Big friendly giant), the kids movie. but, no chance to get there this week. It would probably be sold out anyway. I thought the giant looked familiar in trailers. With motion capture (ala Sméagol) Mark Rylance is the voice .

I remember Mark from "Bridge of Spies," yet another great Tom Hanks movie. Mark had few lines but, really made the most of them. I think he got an Oscar for best supporting actor. I may be wrong - I don't watch the Oscars but he was great also.
