Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

I loved the first DEADPOOL movie, my brother hated it. Just saw Deadpool 2, I didn't hate it but it was a turnaround from the first one. He moved on with his life and I didn't. This time my brother really liked it.

My brother told me Idris will be playing "The Hunchback of Notre Dame (What???) on Netflix. I can see an actor doesn't like to be typecast but if they fail at a few wild attempts - there goes a previously sterling reputation.

All this going on and still no word of the new(abbreviated) Luther episodes that were promised.

I'm also thinking of Taraji Henson who was fantastic in "Hidden Figures," that has taken on a lot of iffy roles that have been bombs at the movies.

Fans are fickle and ditch stars that fall on bad times.

BTW since Deadpool is a Marvel movie, there are two bonus scenes early in the credits.
And They're amazing!

I saw it today. I didn't like it as much as the first one, but I do think it sets up the X Force fairly well. No spoilers, but this movie was clearly aimed at me as a Marvel and Liefeld fan.

Saw Solo. I went in with some trepidation, because Harrison Ford is the only Han Solo in my reality. I gave it a fair shot though, because I know there's no way he can possibly play a young Han and tell that story.

Overall, I liked it! Donald Glover is an amazing Lando, and Alden Ehrenreich does a good job as a young Han. I won't spoil it, but I do understand why he played him the way he did and I'm OK with it. Plus, I got to see one of my favorite bad guys again.

Go see it. If you're on the fence about it, catch a matinee so it doens't cost as much. I think you'll like it.

Thank you Azurbanclucker - you were busy, two movies. We usually try for the earliest showing of the day (AMC theatres) before noon are usually 5.70 or so for tickets (garden variety - no Imax, or 3D- but the plain ones are just as watchable.

I never liked any of the Star Wars stuff but, my son did so, went along with a couple of the early ones. I hated them. In fact my son called a short time ago and said he has no intention of going to see the current one.

Had no problem with the modern Star Trek movies but, hated the tv shows with William Shatner who by the way has been called out for groping the lovely ladies on the show.
