Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

I'm still ticked with this virus - Keanu Reeves had two of his best characters due to be out in Early 2021 - John Wick and Matrix 4. New "Stranger Things" season 4 was supposed to start filming in NM. Don't think that's likely.

I see quite a few movies a year, while critic's reviews are okay I prefer the opinions of friends/family. This thread is not meant to be a critique but, a poster's personal opinion. PLEASE do not include spoilers and definitely no pornographic films. I think we will be fine if we just start with titles and ratings if known ie., PG, PG-13. R etc.

SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK (R) big thumbs UP
Excellent performances and cast. Saw it twice.

SIDE EFFECTS (R) thumbs UP
ditto.
Saw it twice.

WARM BODIES (PG-13) thumbs UP
Funny, sweet, NOT your usual zombie movie.
Hope to see it again - I smiled all the way home.

You are welcome to offer your opinions on these movies IF you have seen them, and please list any other movies.
I'm a fan of silverlinings. Great Flick

I'll have to go back and look ron. If I remember the mayor - yuck(not nice I know) he wasn't worth looking at, I never would have believed it was the guy from Princess Bride. But then I sure don't look like the little cutie I once was.

What I did come on now to say was - at $ 1.00 Tree I found 2 good DVD - Blue Ray "Ides of March" with Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei. Very good movie- I saw it years ago at the show.

Plus got the 2nd. Hunger Games movie $ 1, "Catching Fire." again I've seen that at the show but with my bad memory, everything old is new again. Just can't watch and do BYC at the same time . BYC always wins.

Years ago I found a good movie($1 tree again) "Enough Said," with Julie Louis-Dreyfus (NOT acting like her idiot performance on Seinfeld.) with the late James Gandolfini. Very, very good movie.

There were others ones at $1 tree but scary stuff - I don't need that and some kids movies.

I'll have to pop in on a more regular basis and see if they have more movies. I know Walmart has a $ 5. bin but the not anything I would take even if free.

Tomorrow my brother is taking me shopping for him/out for lunch/ both us in his area. Gee I can pop in his $ tree and see if they have any movies. If I could find "Princess Bride" for $ 1. I would snap it up. Really loved that movie.

That is a nice find!

So with this stay at home order, i find myself looking on Netflix and Amazon prime for entertainment.
I have started watching HOUSE from the beginning, but wanted something diferent. So nothing was on so i went downstairs where we have loads of old video tapes and i found ARSENIC & OLD LACE with Cary Grant. Also i brought up OLD MAN AND THE SEA with Spencer Tracy and TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE with Humrey Bogart.
New movies are sometime a waste of time, but these old classics will never go bad.

My son and his girlfriend just watched "Parasite" which won the Oscar(I guess) for best picture. I watched it last night.

WARNING HUGE SPOILER; don't read further unless you really want to.

The movie wasn't terrible but, I did not like it. It ends with the most horrific blood bath I have ever seen in a movie. I am still trying to figure out why!!
