Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Has anyone seen any Sherlock Holmes movies? I've heard both Jeremy Brett and Basil Rathbone are good. I haven't seen any. I'm looking for one appropriate for the whole family and preferably one that doesn't make Watson look like a buffoon. Any suggestions?

I've read that Robert Downy & Jude Law made/or were still making another episode of the Sherlock Holmes movies- this virus thing had pushed alot of good movies back into oblivion.

Benedict Cumberbatch had a few episodes as Sherlock Holmes - think it was on BBC the first two seasons were pretty good - the third season was pretty bad!
I know exactly what you're talking about! I loved the whole thing, even the third season, but it just kept getting scarier. Have you seen the last season? Especially that last episode. His sister is the scariest villain in any movie I have ever seen. But I loved the whole thing anyway. Just not appropriate for the whole family. I thought it was really funny that they'd left the symbol on their wall and turned it into a smilie face. I read this really good book about the first three seasons that analyzed every episode and explained every connection from the books to the series. Also the music was awesome.

I see quite a few movies a year, while critic's reviews are okay I prefer the opinions of friends/family. This thread is not meant to be a critique but, a poster's personal opinion. PLEASE do not include spoilers and definitely no pornographic films. I think we will be fine if we just start with titles and ratings if known ie., PG, PG-13. R etc.

SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK (R) big thumbs UP
Excellent performances and cast. Saw it twice.

SIDE EFFECTS (R) thumbs UP
ditto.
Saw it twice.

WARM BODIES (PG-13) thumbs UP
Funny, sweet, NOT your usual zombie movie.
Hope to see it again - I smiled all the way home.

You are welcome to offer your opinions on these movies IF you have seen them, and please list any other movies.
I have never seen a zombie movie -and did not know they were comedy.. but now maybe I will set a new 2020 goal to see a zombie movie. I just never thought that this would be a "thing" to discover on the Backyard Chicken page. One of my favorite movies is "Second Hand Lions"

Watched "The Invisible Man" last night...and it was surprisingly good! It's a suspense/thriller movie (not a horror film as the trailer makes it out to be) supposedly set in San Francisco and Stinson Beach, but in reality filmed in Australia and Toronto.
Now I have to watch it!

Stinson beach is a nice place to go in the Summer
