Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

I was wondering if anyone has seen Jupiter Ascending or Seventh Son? We talked about going to see them when they came out, but they've both been so badly panned on Rotten Tomatoes that we haven' bothered.

No I haven't seen either, as you say the reviews have been bad - afraid to waste the money. IF they are as bad as they say - they'll turn up on Netflix pretty fast.

TNTCHIX I know he's in the movie (Samuel Jackson) but, is he in the character of Nick Fury? I remember reading years ago, that Samuel appears in more movies than any other actor. He is one very busy man. He gets angry when people mistake him for Laurence Fishbourne

Another night, another Netflix viewing "Jack Reacher" starring Tom Cruise. - I have to say he is still at the top of his game. I have to give this 5 stars out of the usual 4. Darn him. Actress Rosamund Pike who I hated in "Gone Girl," was great in this. Now I think I like her. That must be what they call "acting." Who would have thunk?

It's been awhile since I saw Jack Reacher, but I enjoyed the movie and agree that Rosamund Pike did a great job in it.

It was entertaining, but didn't quite live up to the book. I liked Tom in the role, but the character of Jack Reacher is described as being about 6'6" and weighing 260lbs in the books, and Tom really doesn't live up to that. But he did a good job in the role, he compensated for the size with an enormous drive. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more of the books being made into movies.

Lee Childs himself said that Reacher's size is more of a metaphor for him being an unstoppable force, and in that regard I think Tom captured the character well. The books have all been very entertaining, although with the last one I struggled a bit. I think I still haven't finished it. Maybe I should try again.
