Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

Today we saw 'The Founder" - story of McDonalds and Ray Kroc. Interesting story. Michael Keating may have the most expressive face of any actor. Pretty much a one man show and he is very good. We give it a 3 on the scale of 4.

Thank you Sour. Seems I forgot to review "Patriot Day," re: the Boston Marathon bombing. Very good movie, and pretty much a showcase for Mark Walberg's talent. I think it didn't draw much attention because people haven't forgotten and know how it turned out. I will say the surviving "perp" looked just like the real person. So much so I wonder if he has to worry for his own life. My brother and I both gave 3.75 out of 4 stars.

I saw him on tv talking about it. He was very intent on doing the story "properly" because it's his community. (I forget what he actually said, I wasn't paying that much attention, but he took it very seriously to do a good job)

I get a kick out of Mark Walberg because he is someone of a smaller stature (bigger than me tho) and still gets to star in movies.

Good for him

The first movie I saw with him starring - can't recall the name - he played shall we say a Big adult star. I had no idea who he was, many years ago, he must have been a teenager. I've seen several of his serious movies and really enjoyed a fun one "Date Night." think it was called , with Steve Carel ,and -Tina Fey. Mark was a former boyfriend of hers and she kept calling on him for help. He'd open the door shirtless. Steve was dazed and said "even his muscles have muscles. " They really did. Well worth the ticket price and a funny plot to boot.

DD yes I thought you meant that paper, I checked but also checked on Wikipedia and had some articles there, but to be honest I found the show all a bit over the top.

Watched Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency with Elijah Wood, not my favourite actor, I always think he looks 'short of a few pennies'. He was quite good in this though and I found it quite addicitve and requiring very little brain power, really quite funny in places.

I also watched the Equalizer, with Denzel who I love - thought that great mindless fun too - sometimes you just have to blow things up.

Other than that haven't watched much, did watch Frasier and thought some of those old episodes abslutely hysterical.

After all the years of having no TV/cable I find myself still going for the old shows, just battle sometimes with the new fangled things

I feel the same about Elijah Wood - I thought he went through the Lord of the Rings trilogy with the same pained look on his face - that isn't acting, more like constipation. I have not seen him in any good performance. Prefer not to see him at all.
