Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

I talked my husband and 10 year old daughter into going to see “The Meg” with me. And yes it is PG13 but after reading the reviews I felt like it was safe enough to take my daughter to.

Honestly other than a few “jump scares” as my daughter calls them there isn’t a whole lot of scary things in the movie. Not much in the way of blood and guts either. But as my husband pointed out when a shark is big enough to swallow a boat whole there isn’t going to be a lot of gory stuff if they eat a human. LOL!

I am a Jason Statham fan so that probably skews my vote a bit but I thought it was good enough. Not a great movie but entertaining. I thought the critic that posted about how it is much like most of his movies where he is being chased by drug dealers/bad guys but this time it is a shark. LOL!

Sean I have a feeling you don't care for super hero movies. Especially ones that may be a talking tree or raccoon that talks, can fly a spaceship and carries a big gun. Takes some getting used to (Guardians of the Galaxy). I thought "How lame." Then my brother and I saw it and we loved it. So does my sister and son. The second one was very good also.
I love Guardians of the Galaxy! I refused to go to the theater to see it because I thought it would be dumb. But when it came out on DVD I wished I had gone to see it in the theater originally.

And then the AMC here ran a special double feature when Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was released and we got to go. It was a blast!

Aside from Wonder Woman Guardians of the Galaxy is my favorite super hero movie.

I've come across some movie chatter that the powers that be, want a different director for Guardians 3, and the lead actors are not happy. I hope they don't wreck the movie. I love all the characters and felt very upset when Yondu died. Of course I have a stuffed Groot figure.

I have a Tsum Tsum Rocket that has an honored place on my computer desk :) I hope that they don't ruin the 3rd one as well. Aside from Wonder Woman, The Guardian of the Galaxy movies are my favorite super hero movies.

Oh Sour, sorry the movies aren't of the caliber we are used too. But, I am grateful you are paying to see the crummy ones and reporting about them - so I don't waste my money.

Some of the scary movies are supposed to be very good anyway. But, I'm not going to any horror movie alone. I require a male escort with dense bone and biceps of steel to protect me from the teenagers behind me, kicking my seat till I am seasick. Who knew going to movies could be fraught with peril?

Is "fraught," a real word Sour?? Is it spelled right?
