Thanks! I will get back to the series soon. I am watching Deadwood again and will then watch the movie that just came outRon the episode of Luther today was much like his early ones . Alice got a chance to do what she does best. Unless my mind was playing tricks on me, I believe near the end she kissed Luther and he didn't seem to mind.![]()
I am going to miss that show!I marathoned Jessica Jones on Netflix season 3 - Oy it turned out to be 14 or so episodes but it was very good.
It is listed as one of the top shows to watch currently.I’m wandering around and landed here. Has anyone else watched the series “Chernobyl”? My son-in-law recommended it to me. I was so mesmerized I watched the first four episodes straight through. Jared Harris who was in “Mad Men” stars in it and he is great.
I would give it five stars. It is suspenseful in a really creepy way and it’s based on a true account of the disaster.
Movies based on real-life events...
Last night we got to our DVD viewing late...as in past ten o'clock. The thought was to watch part of the movie -- "Hotel Mumbai" -- and continue watching it a second night. Well, we watched the whole two hours' worth. It was a riveting story of survival amidst a horrendous terrorist attack, the dichotomy of a luxurious catered-to vacation destination vs. brutal annihilation therein. The focus was mainly on just a handful of characters in the teeming hotel -- a waiter from the slums, the top chef, an American architect and his well-connected Muslim wife and child and nanny, a former Russian military officer -- with several fleeting caricatures of other unfortunates. At times viewing the attacks was like watching fish in a barrel: Easy pickings and a rather violent and bloody outcome.
I remember when the Mumbai incident happened in 2008. It wasn't covered extensively on U.S. news, so this film definitely fleshed out the happenings and machinations behind the city-wide devastation that occurred when a series of orchestrated attacks took place.
I liked the humanity that was portrayed in times of desperation and the excellent acting. The downside is the cringe-worthy blood-spattery executions. And despite the uplifting message of resurrection at the end, this movie does not have a lot of happy outcomes.
