Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

We watched Megan a few nights ago. I had heard about them saying that they didn't use cgi primarily and I was very interested. However despite the over all message I found it kinda boring. The doll really didn't do much and I think this was a result of them insisting on using less cgi. Last good one I saw that used less cgi and was true to it's namesake was Hatching. Strange film and foreign so you have to read all of it but it was surprisingly good

We recently saw The Covenant. It's a pretty special movie and an incredible story. It brought tears to my eye. I highly recommend it.
It does sound like a good movie!

Thanks for the review!

I just watched cocaine bear. Confession: I didn't finish it. It wasn't worth it. The cgi on the bear was God awful. The story was packed with characters that the movie gave me no reason to care about. And the script had so many continuity errors it was just hard to sit through. I had hoped that it would at least be funny but the only funny part was the bear doing coke off someone's dismembered leg and that was at best a chuckle. Overall it made me angry for them to show bears in this light as violent and aggressive and trying to make a joke about how to protect yourself with a quote from Wikipedia at the beginning; a joke that I had to explain to DH because he didn't get it.

Long story short: jokes are corny at best and fall flat, bear looks more like a grizzly combined with a wolverine, too many characters and not enough care, not enough action to keep me interested.

You just saved me my money. If it’s that bad, I think I will pass on seeing it. Thanks.

With out a doubt the WORST MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN, the new KNOCK AT THE CABIN DOOR. Filmed basically in a cabin. Acting is poor, story line is weak, just a poor over all waste of time. If you want a one room set you watch KEY LARGO. Fortunately the CD was lent to us and didn't cost us a dime, Not true, wasted electricity cost us.

Ya that was pretty disappointing for an M. Night Shyamalan movie

Saw the super Mario Bros movie. I absolutely loved it. Fun, family friendly, lots of references and music for the adults that grew up with the games...wonderful. My only complaint is that Yoshi was only a cameo and that princess peach didn't look her best. I think they filmed the go cart sequence first and that's why her face was weird. Idk but all her expressions were kinda wonky and really off putting. Either way I'd give it a 4 outta 5. Lots of fun and entertaining and most importantly not long. Only 1 hour and 30 minutes. Hollywood getting it right
