I don't understand the logic here.

Horse hooves are mostly made of protein, so I see why specific amino acids would matter for them.

But eggshells are mostly made of calcium, so I don't see why those amino acids would matter for the SHELL of the egg. (I could see amino acids making a difference for the membranes inside the shell and around the yolk, and for feather quality, because those all use protein.)
Hold on looking it up in the animal husbandry book sitting on my bedside table

Had to go to other sources but https://www.sciencedirect.com/scien...4e0c052&pid=1-s2.0-S0032579119528152-main.pdf

Indicates there are several amino acids that poultry- chickens cant synthesize and must get from feed for proper muscle development, feather, egg laying and egg development..i did not read the entire article

This article indicates that you can have lower total protein if you have the correct amino acid balance that world reseRch originally thought differently but since the mid 90s they are following much older research showing you need to provide overall nutrients and very specific amino acids to lay well

Yes, I knew that, and I am not disagreeing with anything you say there.

But I don't think amino acids have much effect on SHELL of the egg, which is what I thought you said in your previous post. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant.

I think they need those amino acids to make up the very high quality protein in the yolk-eggs have a lot of protein and these hens are powering our corn and soybeans into super high quality animal protein almost daily. It would make sense that laying would be reduced when the amino acid profile/quantity of the feed isn't optimized. I've seen several studies that show a 14% feed works as well as a 16% feed as long as it had enough added lysine and methionine. I would never feed a 14% feed, it just highlights how important these particular amino acids are.

I think they ere refering to the Calc/Phos amounts and ratio re: shell - though the transition was a bit less clear than desired.
.
Yes tupically i am multitasking andpart of thethought gets lost.

It is not used in the U.S at all ,under any circumstances.
In 1996 it was one of 12 to be used in africa for use in highly endemic malaria areas https://www.epa.gov/ingredients-used-pesticide-products/ddt-brief-history-and-status
But since 2006 WHO is trying to work to get /have other options as it stays in the environment for generations...
thank you for providing the link to confirm my statement.
Western (as in developed) countries banned the use back in the day.
Other countries have adapted the use (apparently) because their situation is different (and they ain't stupid either)
I think Indira Gandhi said something, back in the day, to the extend that they can't afford to not use it.
Or a similar pesticide. (and yes, I do know she was assassinated in the 80s)
