Hold on looking it up in the animal husbandry book sitting on my bedside tableI don't understand the logic here.
Horse hooves are mostly made of protein, so I see why specific amino acids would matter for them.
But eggshells are mostly made of calcium, so I don't see why those amino acids would matter for the SHELL of the egg. (I could see amino acids making a difference for the membranes inside the shell and around the yolk, and for feather quality, because those all use protein.)

Indicates there are several amino acids that poultry- chickens cant synthesize and must get from feed for proper muscle development,feather,egg laying and egg development..i did not read the entire article
This article indicates that you can have lower total protein if you have the correct amino acid balance that world reseRch originally thought differently but since the mid 90s they are following much older research showing you need to provide overall nutrients and very specific amino acids to lay well
