I tried find CUSTOM EGG CARTON LABELS that I liked, which were a size I liked and wording I liked, to no avail. I REALLY didn't want to make my own. Truly!

But, now I've gotten myself into this project and thought maybe I could save others from the drudgery of making labels themselves and make a buck for my kids' college funds along the way. I'd like to gauge the interest of folks in buying small quantities of them, customized to their own preferences & wording, and what you think a reasonable price to pay for a sheet of them might be Let me know what you think (not to buy right now, but just in the IDEA itself for now). Thanks!!

Update: the idea balloon floated and now we've got our own web-store! Thanks BYC members for your support!

I love it...I love "Home raised and Hand gathered" - that makes me smile...I don't know why, but I think that's good. It makes me think of a nice lady or man, with a basket...talking to the chickens and gathering eggs.

Nice. Like it.

I like the idea. If i were to pay someone else for labels, though, i would definitely want them to be full color.

I've also been trying to think of a way to personalize my cartons without actually buying printed ones. If i can personalize recycled store egg cartons with a label, that seems good to me. But it would need to be really cost effective.

I also think that i would be more likely to buy a very large quantity of labels at once so that i wouldn't have to worry about it for a LONG time.

I'll be interested to find out what options you come up with.

I have a color printer and a B&W option. I have some Kraft paper labels that I'll be starting with, so I think B&W will be pretty and rustic looking on those.
What's your idea of a "very large quantity", page-wise? Thanks for your input!

Well, i'm just getting started with selling eggs, but i expect to be selling seven dozen or so each week. I would probably want enough to cover me for say, the next six months, so let's say 200 labels. And if i liked them, at the end of six months, i would probably order a year's worth. O.k., that's not as "very large" as i was thinking originally (once i do the math). I'm thinking that i would probably also be more interested in large ovals than in the rectangles, but i would have to take a look and do some measuring before i settled on that.

IMHO I think that is a great idea and wish you all the luck in the world. I'm doing my own on sticky papper I get at my local craft store it works great and if they bring back my carton I give them 50 cents off I have them bringing back all my cartons Pluss I keep track with lil colored sticky circles on the bottom inside this way I know who wants what. Just an idea for you.

Please keep posting I would love to know jow you are doing with this and where it is going to go in the future.

I don't sell my eggs, I just really want these personalized carton labels for my own give-aways to friends and family. I think it's fun and I thought others might agree but not want to invest the time needed to track down supplies and go to the trouble of making the lablels themselves. Thanks for your input. Stay tuned for the progress report!
