Custom feed mixes

Hi I am new to raising meaties. I cant find much info on mixes for meat birds(alot on layers) . Anway do any of you old timers got a custom mix. My local feed store has one but it appears to be more for layers. of course it contains whole corn, wheat, soy and other ingredients. My main concern is that is contains 20% layer pellets. This might be a dumb question but is the layer pellets ok for raising meaties. Any info is much appreciated

A number of the recipes in the link I posted in your earlier thread are for meat birds. Pay particular attention to the Joel Salatin recipe. He has since refined this recipe, but this one will definitely work for meat birds. It is the one from Pastured Poultry Profits, which was mostly about meat birds. Specifically, Cornish Rock Cross.

And no, I don't know the new recipe Salatin now uses. A friend of mine does, but he ain't sayin'.
