I placed an order for baby chicks from MyPetChicken.com ..its an awesome mixed order of ornamentals/layers and Im really excited about it...I would appreciate some feedback on experiences any of you may have had with this company. Did your chicks ship on the appropriate date? Did they have the breeds you ordered? Did all chicks arrive alive? ETC..lol

Received our order from MPC last week and was pleased. It might be worth noting that they are NOT a hatchery...they are "middle men" that look to have ins with various hatcheries. Our MPC order was fulfilled through Meyers (deduction based on shipping origin in Polk, OH) and it was interesting to note that the breed availability through MPC was more broad than that directly on Meyers site.

Anyway, it took 20 hours to get from Polk, OH to northern VA and all chicks survived.

thanks im glad to hear......I live in New Jersey so im hoping it will be a similarly short trip for them. I ordered eight chicks all together, some standards and some bantams so Im pretty sure theyll be ok. It seem that most reviews on them are good with the random scathing review thrown in just to mess with your head LOL

I ordered from them only once before. They had good customer service and all of the chicks survived the trip and made it to me in a timely manner. I had bought a Barred Rock, Americauna, 2 Polish, and a Welsummer. They didn't have a Welsummer available, and I ended up with 2 extra Barred Rocks. The only thing I didn't like was that they hadn't asked me if I wanted them first, but it wasn't that big of a deal. I would definitely buy from them again.

My chicks did arrive the day after shipping on June 23rd. It took them 21 hours to get from Ohio to my front door. One of the chicks arrived weak and listless ( of course it was the Appenzeller -the breed I was most excited about ) anyway the other chicks seemed fine..I got several varieties of polish, a light brahma, some silkies, a barred rock, a cochin...unfortunately the appenzeller died the day after it arrived. MPC refunded my money for the chick no questions asked. I was so pleased with my order that I placed ANOTHER order to be shipped on July28th- this order will be
1 salmon faverolles
1 Dark Cornish
1 Silver spangle Polish

I ordered from them in late may. I got 8 silver laced wyandotte pullets, that ended up shipping from meyer. They sent them to cleveland ohio first, so I got them the next day here in upstate new york. All 8 are healthy, they are 6 weeks old today. Had one or 2 that had started to get pasty butt, but we took them out of the brooder one at a time (placed em in a bucket to keep track of who we inspected) and cleaned them 2-3 times a day and only had to clean the 2 maybe twice each. They are all doing really well. I placed a second order thats supposed to ship today or tommorrow, thats going to be 4 gold laced wyandottes and 4 columbians, all pullets. Lovely birds, very docile and they're really pretty. I only wish i could get 2-3 of each of the different colors of wyandottes.
