Cut off the end of a snake

I found a snake in the nesting boxes yesterday and it is eating eggs. The hens are not afraid of it but I am Is there anyway to keep it away short of killing it? I think it is the type that eats mice etc which I appreciate but not my eggs or chicks!

Unfortunately all the remedies people may tell you like electrocic deterrent and chilli powder etc are all false, they're just a plecebo effect.

Finding a way to thin out the mice, limit hiding spots for it, and if possible using a finer mesh so it can't gain access is really all you can do.
