You could try Easter Eggers. I just love those fluffy cheeks! Other nice breeds are Silkies, Seramas, or Cochins. There are lots of good "pet" breeds out there.

Please consider two instead of one, chickens are flock animals and do better with a buddy or two or three. Do you plan to have it in the house as a pet?

Lots of nice chickens out there that make good pets. But as Drumstick Diva has mentioned, it is always better to get two of them. They are highly social creatures and really need the companionship of another bird. You can still make nice pets out of both of them. Good luck and enjoy your new adventures!
