Crowing
When we got the confirmation text from Murray McMurray hatchery, it said to allow two to three days for shipping. Especially with the slow mail right now, I get I was expecting at least two days. Nope! Right this morning the post office called me, and I went to pick up our new peeping box of fuzzies. This is what we got:
They're all alive and healthy, and no substitutions!
I took only two pictures at the post office, (I didn't want them to get cold,) and two here, so far. But I'm going to head out to take more very soon, so I'll post those as they come.
Sorry about the bad quality, I'll get some better ones.
Yes, I realize they were huddled under the heat lamp, and that means they're cold. As I wasn't expecting them, I didn't have any time to preheat the brooder. Shortly after these were taking, the lamp was moved closer, and the pool warmed up more, so they spread out more. I just gave them to Fluffball, who is currently happily sitting on them.
I'll get some individual labeled pics, but until then the names are:
1. Rosalie the Rose comb brown Leghorn,
2. Blondie the White Leghorn,
3. Amara, (short for amaranth,) the red Leghorn,
4. Argenti the silver Leghorn,
5. Rachel the single comb brown Leghorn,
6. Spade the black Minorca,
7. Annie the Black Star,
9. Mindy the other Black Star,
10. Sally the Red Star,
11. Jade the Whiting True Green,
12. Jasmine the Whiting True Green,
13. Alice Von Fluffypants the Whiting True Blue,
14. Sapphire the Whiting True Blue,
15. and a so far unnamed Whiting True Blue
So, yeah. I'm not actually completely sure which chick is which breed, maybe you guys will be able to help me with that when I post the invids.
Sapphire is my favorite so far, though Argenti is the tiniest and Sally is definitely the fluffiest. Sapphire's actually bluish silver. And she'll probably lay blue eggs! Win-win!
