Cute yellow fuzzlets

ok--- Im slow I know what a sex-link is but from the coloration are these boys or girls? (Isn't the mallard cute)

Red Sexlink might be it. New Hampshires would have a slight copper hue.

I have German line NHR all the way from 2 weeks to 10 weeks. In the brooder at a young age, they are hardly distinguishable from my Buff orp without closer inspection. NHR chicks have a buffy orange down color, and some of them are decently close in color to BOs :) Once they pop out wing feathers though, it's far easier to tell what is what! regardless, the quality of the first pic wasn't good enough to rule out the possibility. However, those stripes do

Those are female... Makes will be light yellow as they are predominantly white when feathered.

oh thank goodness.... Im not allowed to have roosters where I live. Thank you everyone for helping me identlify these gals!

As far as I know you cannot sex a chicken by the way it looks (except some breeds will have roosters with alternating feather lengths, check no later than 4 days old) you would need to check if they have a bump in the vent and even that is not 100%.

Good to know :)

Sexlinks are specifically created to be sexed at birth, with a pretty high success rate. I've hatched these out for 4H projects before and out of the 3 years I've done it I've only had one quesionable chick.
There are a few kinds of Sexlinks available. The two most common are Red Sexlinks (Boys are primarily white, females are primarily red/orange) and Black Sexlinks (Female chicks are solid black while males have a small white spot on their head)

Other than that, chicks of the BBRed variety can be sexed at birth. The method is usually found in wellsumers, but I've seen accuracy in old English as well. I believe Speckled Sussex can also be sexed in this way. Females have a darker, more refined pattern where as males have a messier, less distinct pattern.

Other than that, There are a couple breeds that can be sexed at a young age. I believe Rhodebars can be sexed immediately. Barred rocks also have down color differences between males and females. Polish keepers claim that they can be sexed according to the shape and size of their crest. Finally, most breeds that appear in wheaten or a similar pattern can be sexed soon after they start feathering in.
