I'm sorry about your boy.

Unfortunately, Nettle is a mystery! She's one of three rescues that were dumped on a pond and came to live with me five years ago. No one really knows their histories. I really think she looks like a dark khaki campbell, except for her lovely bow tie. If you Google dark khakis you'll get tons of ducks that look just like her! But when I first got her I posted her photo on the duck forum and most people agreed that she is a manky mallard (mallard/domestic mutt). If so she certainly favors the domestic. She can't fly at all, she lays like a machine (I wish she'd take a break!), and she's the size and weight of my welsh harlequin.

I adore her. Regardless of what breed she is she's very special. She was terrified of me at first, but now hops up into my lap and kisses my cheek. I say she's a dark KC on her way to a formal mealworm dinner party.
