Cutest thing ever

I'm starting to think that I'm going to need to keep a camera right next to the coop so I don't miss moments like this! Of course there's the issue of not being willing to spend the money for an exclusive coop camera.

And then there is knowing I'll forget to bring it back out to the coop when I bring it in to the computer to upload pictures!

Glad you got to witness that!

Tonight I got a photo of the chicks at the back of the coop keeping each other warm.

I took a second one since I only got part of one of them in the first photo, but then Ophelia stood up to see what that flash of light was all about!!

Of course it is not all that cold here at night, in the 40s right now. But that is cold for us. The other night it got down to 34 in some places here in town.

Be careful - if you leave your camera in the coop, you're likely to find it with the memory card full. You never know what kind of pics those girls will take...

Awww, how sweet is that? Good thing too, those little game hens don't look like they've got enough feathers to keep them warm. I always want to knit them some little leg warmers.

Good grief... it's been a week now. I think the bantam has reverted to a chick state. She's older than the wyandotte but after visiting the feeder, she hops back into the wyandotte's box, nuzzles affectionately through her feathers, then tucks herself under the wyandotte's feathers/wing- even though it's not as cool out lately. If you approach them the wyandotte growls you off. My hens need therapy haha!

Pretty hens Rebbetzin

Hmmm, maybe leg warmers would get the bantam out from under the wyandotte... Do you have any instructions for those? lol!
