can you cut their feathers? The reason i ask is one of my hens has lice. I have dusted her with DE, seven dust and its not working. can i cut the eggs off the feathers or should i pluck them out??? I just can't beat this lice and i am not liking the look of her~

It would be better to pluck them b/c the eggs are down by the bottom anyways. If you cut them they won't grow back until she molts, but if you pluck them they will go ahead and grow back. Just stay away from the blood feathers.

umm, blood feathers...Oh no! Where are they? It's all in her vent feathers, the soft puffy ones.

LOL, i should probally learn more about their anatomy

Blood feathers are just new feathers that are growing in...they can be anywhere, but they're pretty easy to see b/c the shaft will be dark blue instead of white/clear.

excellent! gonna try to get this done today! She is freaking me out and i don't want the others to get it. I have been dusting everything to try to stop that from happening
